Command Staff

Chief - Austin Worchester

Chief Worchester joined the department in August of 200. He was elected Fire Chief in 2023. By virtue of his position, he also serves on the Board of Directors.

Chief Caffey

Assistant Fire Chief - Mark Caffey

Chief Caffey joined the department in April of 1991 and celebrated his 25th year of service in 2016. Chief Caffey held the Chief's position until 2023 and now serves as the department's Assistant Chief. He is certified as a Fire Fighter II by the Alabama Fire College & Personnel Standards Commission and is licensed as an EMT-Basic by the Alabama Department of Public Health. He also holds certifications as Wildland Firefighter, HAZMAT Awareness and Operations, Apparatus Operator:Pumper, Instructor I, Fire Officer I, Live Fire Instructor and the National Incident Management System. Chief Caffey was voted Chief in 1996 and has been elected each year since. Chief Caffey was recognized by department members in 1998 and again in 2008 as the Firefighter of the Year. By virtue of his position, Chief Caffey also serves as a member of the Board of Directors for the PLFD and the Autauga County Firefighter's Association.

Captain/Safety Officer - Dianne Caffey

Captain Caffey joined the department in June of 1997. She has been serving on the Board of Directors as the deparment secretary since 1997. She is certified as a Fire Fighter II by the Alabama Fire College & Personnel Standards Commission. She also holds certfications as a Fire Instructor I, Fire Officer I, Live Fire Instructor, Wildland Firefighter, Apparatus Operator: Pumper, Apparatus Operator: Mobile Water, Hazardous Material Awareness and Operations, and National Incident Management System.

Captain Caffey has two sons: Austin and Michael Johnson. She also has two granddaughters Megan and Annistyn Johnson. She works for the State of Alabama Office of Information Technology as a telecommunications specialist. She can be reached at
